Karen Spears Is Creating A World of Possibility for Women in Design and Entrepreneurship.

Karen Spears is the owner of Kareracter, a creative studio building brands with personality. Kareracter was born in her college dorm room in 2015. She is a self-taught graphic designer specializing in the art of hand-lettering. Upon graduation in May of 2017 she took the plunge into full-time entrepreneurship. She’s worked with over 50 individual clients and a dozen established organizations. 

She offers visual solutions to clients who are socially-driven, innovative, and women-led organizations that support a team of emerging women designers. The aim is to be the home-base for emerging designers looking to create meaningful work in an environment that celebrates their personal and creative identity. 

She’s a University of Missouri graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and a minor in Business. She’s had the privilege of working for Google, Leo Burnett,  James R. Jordan Foundation, and Chicago Scholars. She’s also the former peer advisor for the Obama Foundation, Starting Bloc alum, and current Scholar at the 2018 Aspen Ideas Festival. Her mission is to create a world of possibility for women in design and entrepreneurship.
