Restaurant Review: Cafe Roval | Miami
Per their website, Café Roval is Mark Soyka’s first restaurant in 15 years and exceeds the mark in style and execution. Chef Curtis Rhodes has created a seasonal, chef-driven menu that reflects Mediterranean cooking with a contemporary edge. There is an extensive, carefully selected wine list with over 80 artisanal wines to complement your meal or enjoy on the patio with your special someone or a group of friends, as well as a menu of bar bites. Master mixologist Douglas Beedoo rounds out the experience - Originally from Brazil, Beedoo was sent here for his extraordinary skills with libations. More like a cocktail craftsman than a bartender, he blends unlikely ingredients, all from scratch, some infused, and every one delicious. Think lime, agave nectar, Indian spices, barrel reduction, and Schofferhofer grapefruit beer, as in the “Bollywood.” With an enchanting environment, a distinguished local chef, and a dedicated team to serve you, Mark Soyka’s swan song deserves a standing ovation.
I could not agree more! I originally tried Cafe Roval on Uber Eats and was impressed with the food. My boyfriend then told me that the dine-in experience takes the amazing eats to the next level and he wasn't lying! We dined here for my birthday dinner and reserved a table in the outside courtyard for the ultimate dining experience. It feels as though you’ve been transported to another country. Its so peaceful and serene, lush and romantic. The ambiance and food are further enhanced by the impeccable service.
John was extremely attentive and his recommendations were stellar. He recommended the Sunomono Kind Of. It was exceptional and unlike anything you’ve had anywhere else. I also had the falafel, fried cauliflower, beets, stracciatella (another recommendation from John), and the smashed truffle potatoes. All super YUMMY! We had the sticky date pudding for desert and it was OMG Good!!! I’m drooling just thinking about it! I think I will be returning soon! All this to say, treat yourself to Cafe Roval and you must experience the courtyard, you won’t regret it!
Side note: I wasn’t able to get a photo of the sticky date pudding because the sun had gone down and the lighting was bad :-( - another excuse to go back and get it soon!
